Information for universities, placement agencies and other potential partners in Europe
Switzerland and the EU youth and educational programmes
Switzerland is an indirect partner of the EU youth and educational programmes. This means that unlike the 31 member states of those programmes, Switzerland has not yet joined the new Lifelong Learning Programme.
As a regional Leonardo Office, SOL therefore still works within the context of the Leonardo da Vinci Programme II. On behalf of the Swiss State Secretariat of Research and Education, SOL places students,Apprentis, recent graduates and young workers from the French-speaking part of Switzerland within Europe and likewise helps students, recent graduates and young workers from Europe to find a traineeship in the French-speaking part of Switzerland (for the German-speaking part contact our partner
STUDEX, for the Italian-speaking part contact our partner
LSE).
SOL issues grants for Swiss as well as for European applicants, i.e. if the students, graduates Apprentis or young workers of your institution or your candidates are interested in doing a traineeship in Switzerland, they are welcome to contact us for placing and funding.
Switzerland is currently applying for a full membership with the EU youth and educational programmes and we are hoping to join the LLP in 2011.
International co-operation
SOL is constantly looking for new partners.
Since we are working in the context of a European educational programme, we are unfortunately not able to co-operate with universities, placement agencies and other institutions from non-European States.
Also, being financed by the State Secretariat of Research and Education, we usually do not co-operate with placement agencies and organizations which work commercially, i.e. which charge the candidates that they are placing. An exception can be made if the organization in question charges the firms, i.e. the future employers.
SOL would like to co-operate with partners as follows:
Exchange of dossiers
Partners can send a number of applications of candidates interested in doing a traineeship in Switzerland to SOL. We will then find them a suitable placement. Likewise, partners agree to place a number of SOL' candidates. To co-operate by exchange of dossiers, we should first agree on the number of candidates which we will place for each other.
Co-operation via traineeship pool
You are welcome to publish your placement offers free of charge in our
web site. Your offers will appear anonymously, i.e. your contact data is only visible to SOL, while the interested candidates can read the description of the traineeships. SOL is likewise interested in using your pool to reach more candidates.
Co-operation via trainee pool
In our
trainee pool, all potential candidates are registered anonymously. You can forward this information to partner firms interested in hiring a Swiss trainee.
Establishing contacts with universities
To reach more candidates, SOL is willing to send your placement offers to universities in Switzerland. Likewise, SOL appreciates it, if you could make our offers known to students and graduates in your countries.
SOL is open to your suggestions of how to co-operate.
Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions about our organization, the Leonardo Programme in Switzerland or co-operating with us. We are looking forward to a successful co-operation with you.
