Emotional Literacy - Looking for a researcher

A new European Project, led by SOL, started this October. « Project ELIA  -Emotional Literacy in Action : A New Model for Managing Relationships and Engaging Learners for Success» is funded by the Lifelong Learning programme of the European Union.  The project pilots a new approach based on Emotional Literacy for vocational teachers to better manage the classroom and their relationship with students.

Project ELIA involves partners from the UK, Switzerland, Portugal and Austria.

We are looking for a researcher (independent or university/research institution based) to support the project.

Researchers do not need to have a background in EL, but they need strong research and report writing skills and a background in education or social science.  The researcher will be involved in analysing, interpreting and writing up qualitative data. The focus is on teachers’ and students’ experience of EL and the cultural adaptation of results and material for conferences, dissemination and teaching.

The work would be undertaken on a part-time basis over an 18-month period starting in Jan/February 2012. The maximum contract fee is €25,000. An interview will be required.
